Description
Two key takeaways from the session:
- The crisis in Iraq has now become protracted. Though the Humanitarian needs are still very high, but donors are reorienting their fundings toward durable solutions, that justifies the current low level of response across the country.
- The Shelter Cluster has developed tools and put in place a strong coordination mechanism toward Shelter repairs in areas of return, which need to be reinforced and maintained. Thus, the Shelter Cluster has approached UN Habitat for a possible handover of coordination responsibilities in areas of return in 2021.
