The Shelter Cluster was activated in Iraq in November 2014 led by UNHCR to respond to the mass influx of displaced people leaving ISIL occupied territories and the military operations to liberate those areas. Since 2014, NRC is co-chairing at national level. For more than three years, the system-wide emergency level 3 was declared and lifted only in January 2018. The Shelter and NFI Cluster Co-Chair will work under the direct supervision of the National Cluster Coordinator in Iraq and will work in collaboration with other members of the cluster coordination team. The main objectives of this post is to support the Shelter Cluster Coordinator to ensure that the cluster fulfills its core functions as defined by the Inter Agency Standing Committee (IASC).

The post is based in Erbil, Iraq and the contract will be administered by the Norwegian Refugee Council.

This job has an expected start date of January 2019.
